Product properties & Features
TMXDI is a high-performance special aliphatic diisocyanate with a wide range of applications. Its molecular structure contains two tertiary-carbon diisocyanate functional groups. Compared with primary-carbon and secondary-carbon isocyanates, this functional group endows TMXDI with unique properties, including controllable reaction, high elongation of finished products, excellent heat resistance and stability, good weather resistance, and low toxicity.
Applications
TMXDI hardly reacts with water below 40°C, is resistant to self-condensation, and exhibits low reactivity with carboxylic acids. It yields prepolymers of low viscosity that require no solvent dilution, enabling the preparation of 100% water-based polyurethanes.
TMXDI finds extensive applications in specialty coatings, waterborne polyurethanes, roof and deck coatings, concrete coatings, wood coatings, thermoplastic elastomers, sealants, adhesives, and RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) products.
