Adhesive RN
Substitute for Desmodur RN
40% Polyisocyanate and 60% Ethyl Acetate
Trade Name: Adhesive RN
Character: Substitute for Desmodur RN
Component: 40% Polyisocyanate and 60% Ethyl Acetate
Product Description
Trade Name: Adhesive RN
Character: Substitute for Desmodur RN
Component: 40% Polyisocyanate and 60% Ethyl Acetate
Product properties & Features
Our RN is of Chinese origin (manufactured in China) which the same performance as BAYER's Desmodur RN, is designed as a curing agent / crosslinking agent for adhesive based on hydroxyl polyurethane, natural and synthetic rubbers.
RN is aromatic NCO isocyanate. lt is colorless and low viscous. Owing to RN features good anti-yellowing, it is particularly suitable for light-color polyurethane adhesive demand.
Core Properties of our RN
- Low Color & No Yellowing: Colorless to pale yellow, low-viscosity liquid; resistant to yellowing under heat/UV exposure, suitable for white/light-colored products and high-aesthetic applications.
- Fast Crosslinking & High Strength: Reacts rapidly with hydroxyl (–OH) and amino (–NH₂) groups to form a three-dimensional crosslinked structure that is heat-resistant (100–110°C), hydrolysis-resistant, and plasticizer-resistant, significantly enhancing final bond strength and tear resistance.
- Excellent Compatibility: Compatible with systems such as Desmocoll® PU adhesives, chloroprene rubber (CR), natural rubber (NR), nitrile rubber (NBR), SBR, and flexible PVC (high plasticizer content).
- Superior Media Resistance: Exhibits excellent resistance to oils, acids, alkalis, water, organic solvents, and plasticizer migration, especially suitable for bonding high-oil rubber and high-plasticizer PVC.
- Moderate Pot Life: Pot life of 4–6 hours after mixing at room temperature, facilitating continuous industrial operations.
Applications
1. Footwear Industry
- Use: Crosslinking agent for footwear adhesives, compatible with difficult-to-bond materials such as rubber, leather, nylon, TPR, PU, and flexible PVC (high plasticizer content), especially for white/light-colored footwear.
- Effects: Improves initial tack, heat resistance (resists debonding), water resistance, aging resistance, and plasticizer migration resistance; no yellowing, meeting the appearance and durability requirements of high-end footwear.
- Typical Formulation: PU adhesive / chloroprene adhesive + 3%–6% RN (based on solids content).
2. Rubber & Flexible PVC Bonding
- Scenarios: Rubber-to-metal, rubber-to-plastic, rubber-to-fabric, and flexible PVC (high plasticizer)-to-rubber/leather composites (seals, conveyor belts, hoses, automotive interiors, synthetic leather).
- Effects: Solves bonding challenges for high-oil rubber and high-plasticizer PVC; enhances tear resistance, vibration resistance, media corrosion resistance, and migration resistance, extending product service life.
3. Automotive Interiors
- Use: Bonding of headliners, carpets, seals, soundproof cotton, leather/fabric, and flexible PVC instrument panels/door panels with solvent-based PU/chloroprene adhesives.
- Effects: Heat-resistant (80–100°C), weather-resistant, no yellowing, and plasticizer migration-resistant, suitable for light-colored interiors and long-term durability requirements.
4. Furniture & Leather Processing
- Use: Bonding of leather/fabric to wood, foam to frames, PVC/PU synthetic leather, silk, etc.
- Effects: Improves heat resistance under pressure, aging resistance, and migration resistance, ensuring stable appearance of light-colored products, ideal for high-end furniture and upholstered goods.
5. Industrial Lamination & Assembly
- Use: Flexible packaging lamination, film-to-paper/aluminum foil bonding, rubber/plastic component assembly, and high-plasticizer PVC product assembly.
- Effects: Improves temperature resistance, solvent resistance, and migration resistance, enhancing composite strength and durability for demanding working conditions.
