Product Description
p‑Benzoquinone dioxime, also known as 1,4‑benzoquinone dioxime and GMF(Glynodine Metal Filler), is an organic compound. It appears as pale‑yellow to brown crystalline powder. It is mainly used as a vulcanizing agent for butyl rubber, natural rubber, styrene‑butadiene rubber, etc., and can also be applied as an analytical reagent.
Product properties & Features
Solubility
Readily soluble in ethanol, acetic acid and ethyl acetate; slightly soluble in acetone; insoluble in water, benzene and gasoline.
Thermal Behavior
No boiling point. It decomposes at decomposition temperature with release of nitrogen‑oxide gases.
Vulcanization Characteristics
Featuring dioxime functional groups, it acts as a non‑sulfur vulcanizing agent with high vulcanization activity. It has a relatively low critical vulcanization temperature and tends to cause scorch during processing. It is recommended to use together with anti‑scorch agent.
Staining Property
It is colored itself and will stain rubber articles. Therefore, it is only suitable for dark‑colored rubber products, not for light‑colored or white articles.
Stability
Stable under sealed condition at ambient temperature. Keep away from strong light, high temperature, strong oxidants and strong acids.
Applications
1. Rubber Vulcanizing Agent
It is most suitable for butyl rubber (IIR), and also applicable to natural rubber, styrene‑butadiene rubber and polysulfide rubber.
It is generally compounded with activators (e.g. lead tetroxide, accelerator DM).
Vulcanizate advantages: high modulus, excellent heat‑aging resistance, ozone resistance and electrical insulation performance.
Typical products: cable insulation layers, heat‑resistant sealing gaskets, rubber water bags, air bladders and diaphragms.
2. Adhesive Industry
Used as cross‑linking component for self‑vulcanizing adhesives to improve bonding strength and heat resistance.
3. Chemical Reagent
Used for qualitative detection of nickel ions in analytical chemistry; also serves as polymerization inhibitor for polymer synthesis and organic synthetic intermediate.
Packing & Storage
20 KG net each fiber drum lined with PE bag.
Storage should be cool, dry and ventilated.
The shelf life is 12 months, after the expiration of the re-inspection can still be used. Avoid rain and sun during transportation. Do not mix with strong oxidants.
