Liquid Butadiene Styrene Rubber
LSBR
CAS No.9003-55-8
Chemical Name: Liquid Butadiene Styrene Rubber
Code: LSBR
CAS No. 9003-55-8
Product Description
Liquid styrene butadiene rubber (LSBR/L-SBR) is a low-molecular-weight (Mn = 2,000–10,000) liquid elastomer copolymerized from styrene and butadiene. It appears as a water-white to pale yellow transparent viscous liquid at room temperature and is classified as a reactive liquid rubber.
Structure: Random copolymer with a styrene content of 10–40 wt%; the main chain contains a large number of active double bonds (predominantly 1,2-vinyl groups).
Appearance: Colorless/pale yellow transparent viscous liquid (low odor, low VOC)
Density: 0.91–0.95 g/cm³ (25°C)
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg): -65°C~-30°C (higher than LPB, with better heat resistance and abrasion resistance)
Solubility: Soluble in aromatic/cycloalkane hydrocarbons; excellent compatibility with most rubbers and resins.
Product properties & Features
1. Reactive Plasticization/Co-Crosslinking: Double bonds participate in vulcanization/curing, no migration or bleeding, providing permanent toughening.
2. High Compatibility: Excellent compatibility with solid SBR, BR, EVA, epoxy resins, acrylic resins, etc.
3. Low VOC & Eco-Friendly: Solvent-free, low odor, compliant with EU REACH and tire environmental labeling standards.
4. Reinforcement & Abrasion Resistance: Improves products' wet skid resistance, abrasion resistance, impact resistance, and fatigue resistance.
Applications
Tire Industry: Reactive plasticizer for high-performance tread compounds, reducing rolling resistance and enhancing grip/abrasion resistance.
Adhesives & Sealants: Automotive sealants, pressure-sensitive adhesives, epoxy toughening, improving flexibility and adhesion.
Rubber Products: Footwear, hoses, belts, damping components, enhancing processability and physical properties.
Electronics & Electricals: PCB copper-clad laminates, electronic potting, insulating coatings, boosting insulation and temperature resistance.
Asphalt Modification: Toughening, crack resistance, aging resistance, improving road durability.
Packing & Storage
50kg/plastic drum or 180kg/metal drum packaging.
Storage should be cool, dry and ventilated. The shelf life is 12 months, after the expiration of the re-inspection can still be used.
Avoid rain and sun during transportation. Do not mix with strong oxidants.
